How to fight the first expression lines.

Every day, health is increasingly associated with physical and emotional well-being. Perhaps that is why more and more people are thinking about caring for, beautifying and rejuvenating their skin.

Nowadays, thanks to the evolution of medicine and technology, there are countless aesthetic treatments that are less and less invasive and are used for beauty and natural ageing. Treatments that aim to restore the lost glow in an appropriate way and without exaggeration.

At Juaneda Hospital, we have the Plastic Surgery and Aesthetic Medicine Department, made up of top-notch professionals, where we use low-aggressive anti-aging techniques and stimulation techniques that can be applied to achieve skin rejuvenation without pain and without surgery.

We talk about the three most common options: medical radiofrequency, hyaluronic acid and Botox.

Radiofrequency therapy

The architecture of our skin is essentially formed by hyaluronic acid, collagen and elastin. And it is only after the age of 35-40 that their production begins to decline and the first signs of ageing appear. For example, skin sagging.

Radiofrequency therapy is a treatment that stimulates the production of collagen in our skin.

Over time, our body produces less and there is a decrease in elasticity. This elasticity is responsible for keeping the skin smooth. Radiofrequency is used to increase the production of collagen in our cells and contract the collagen we already have.

The treatment begins with exfoliation, which removes the layers of dead skin cells. These layers may obstruct the passage of the radiofrequency energy to the dermis, where the collagen is found. An anaesthetic gel is then applied (it is necessary to warm the dermis to 42 degrees Celsius for the stimulation to be effective) and finally the actual technique is performed.

Hyaluronic acid

Hyaluronic acid is an elementary component that occurs naturally in our body, especially in the skin, and is lost with age.

What are its functions? It is responsible for maintaining hydration, supports cell renewal and stimulates the production of collagen. Hyaluronic acid is now the king of implants because it is a natural substance. It could be exactly reproduced in the laboratory from the human one and is recognised by the skin as its own substance after injection.

Depending on its density, it can be used for different treatments: for hydration (facial mesotherapy, dehydrated skin) and as a filler to correct wrinkles on the neck, décolleté and lower two thirds of the face.

Botox

It is one of the most well-known aesthetic treatments in the world and is used to eliminate expression wrinkles and reveal a more youthful appearance.

Botulinum toxin -Botox- is a substance that has a relaxing effect in the injected muscles and thus eliminates expression wrinkles: Crow's feet, frown lines, forehead muscle, corner of the lips or eye area.

Usually, we need to go to this type of treatment as soon as we discover an expression wrinkle, because if we let the wrinkles develop, they can lead to scars that are then difficult to treat.

On the other hand, many patients opt for cosmetic surgery and more comprehensive and complete treatments in addition to aesthetic medicine treatments.

At Juaneda Hospitals, we suggest the perfect treatment for your needs. We will help you regain the glow of your years.

Juaneda, close to you.
